This year the seventh graders will be using the vocabulary workbook, Vocabulary From Classical Roots by Norma Fifer and Nancy Flowers. As the authors note in the preface, the book,
"... encourages you to look at words as members of families in the way that astronomers see stars as parts of constellations. Here you will become acquainted with constellations of words descended from Greek and Latin, visible in families that cluster around such subjects as the human being, kinds of mental activity and aspects of daily life."
The seventh graders will regularly have a week to complete two lessons for homework. They will also be have periodic review quizzes.
Homework:
Due every day: Read for thirty minutes.
Due Thursday, October 4th: Reading Response Letter
Due Monday, October 8th: Complete Lessons 1 & 2 in Vocabulary From Classical Roots
